It’s hard to choose between options that do not include the ideal option that we want. Each involves a different kind of pain, none are painless.
The criterion when it comes to this is not choosing the option with the least amount of pain, blaming or ignoring it and not choosing at all, but choosing the option where the ratio of the good to the pain is the greatest, and facing the pain, overcoming it, and growing stronger from it.
We are not victims, we are students.
It’s a question of choosing the pain that pushes us towards the direction of the best possible outcome that we want.
It's what we choose to do and be that defines us.
